Yung Lenox is Dope, And If You Don't Know, Now You Know

Your 8 year old ain't drawing shit this dope.
I first became acquainted with then-7-year-old Lenox Buringrud (AKA Yung Lenox)'s work via a piece The LA Weekly did on him in May of last year. I immediately copped 3 prints. I mean, are you fucking kidding? What other 7 (now 8) year old kid do you know of who draws classic hip-hop album covers with startling accuracy? From 2Pac to ODB to UGK to Big L, Yung Lenox is crushing his interpretations of the above-mentioned artists' most iconic album covers, all while doing normal young kid stuff, like playing basketball in his little league.
All Eyez On Lenox
In the year since I first discovered Lenox (and a couple more purchases of his prints), he has continued to refine his craft, and his trajectory seems only to be headed upward. He traveled to New York in April of this year to attend the premiere of "Live Fast, Draw Yung," a 16 minute documentary about him that debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival. You can read all about it in this New York Times blog entry.
We here at Wolf's Head Santa Barbara applaud Yung Lenox for his talent, and strongly encourage you to purchase prints of his work HERE.
I wish I was doing shit this dope at 8 years old.
