We carried other people's blanks for years. Some of them were very good. None of them were the shirt we kept waiting for somebody to make, so we made it.

The body is a 10.5oz, 353 GSM combed cotton jersey. The collar is 15oz, 507 GSM, ribbed and set in, about forty percent heavier than the body fabric. Collars are the first thing customers complain about. That is where we spent the money.

The cotton is custom milled for us in Los Angeles. Washed there, combed there, cut and sewn there, piece dyed there. Every step in one city, in the facilities trusted by some of the most respected names in American made clothing.

Fabric weight and finished weight are two different numbers. Most brands publish the first one. We publish both. This shirt weighs 10.6oz in a small, 11.4oz in a medium, 12.5oz in a large, on a scale, finished.

Slightly boxy straight fit. Double needle stitching, shoulder to shoulder taping, preshrunk. Wear it under a jacket in January and on its own in July. Santa Barbara does not really give you a choice.
